Borrow from a friend to pay CSA!

Had the chimps from the CSA on the phone recently, they quite casually said I could use a debit or credit card to pay back arrears (which they caused in the 1st place taking a year to assess my case,a year!!)
When I informed them I neither had a credit card, nor £3000 laying around spare, they then said perhaps I could ask a friend or relative to lend me the money!
The arrogance and foolishness of this outfit knows no bounds.I told them in no uncertain terms that there was no way I was going round friends and family, cap in hand, begging to lend money to pay those jokers.
That they can do this is unreal,I find it quite offensive!

If they took a year to do it you need to consider was this a reasonable time to take. If you dont think it was you should start the complaints process.
If when looked into it can be shown that maladministration was prevelant in your case then they will be really accomodating when it comes to negotiating the repayments.
This happened to me, once they agreed it was their fault alone there was arrears because of their delays I managed to get it down to a third of the amount they wanted me to pay towards the arrears every week.
Although the arears still have to be paid back.
People need to take the sensible approch and put money by if they are waiting for an assessment, although the CSA should advise people of this more clearly. When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.0 -

Borrow from a friend/family.......how professional is our government!!
Worries me to think that we pay these there wages to govern our country and there acting like every nrp and there family are very wealthy, dont they know that were in recession (mind you recession wont bother them they take most our money that we pay them via tax to govern the UK) and most of us are on the minimum wage which is not enough to live on, otherwise we wouldnt need it topping up with tax credits, taking children out of poverty and putting other children in poverty, yea there doing a great job!!!0 -

If they took a year to assess your case - did you not make any payments to the PWC for your child(ren) during that time, or put the money away knowing that you would get a bill for it? Don't see why that makes the CSA workers chimps....It's just the same as using your electricity for 3 months, finally getting your first bill and then complaining that the amount is too high - you knew it was coming!0 -

Your wrong,I never missed a payment,I continued paying at the old rate all year under the mistaken belief that when I finally got the letter telling me my new rate I would pay from that point,at that rate.WRONG! The 1st I knew I had arrears was when I got a letter telling me so.My original points are valid. Why does it take a year? Why are you not CLEARLY and unequivically informed that the new rates start from the assesment letter? I cant be the 1st who has fallen foul of this,I was accruing arrears and all the time I had no idea!
And of course now they want the back payment at a rate I just cant afford,I have begged and pleaded that I will pay back at a rate that wont send me under but as many a NRP has found, they really do not give a stuff! No understanding, no empathy, no nothing, just a vile woman talking over me threatening me with a DEO if I dont pay up,yet,iv never missed a payment not one ever!
What they want back will send me to the brink of financial ruin, all because of there incompetence.
They are chimps, and when I finally get them off my back I will have the biggest celebration EVER.
No wonder blokes pack in work, and sadly, take there lives.
I appreciate there will always be a hardcore of muppets who will do anything to avoid paying, unfortunatly at the CSA as many honest NRP`s have found out,we are all tarred with the same brush.
I am a decent, hardworking, honest taxpayer and they are literally leaving me in a position where I wont have nothing left at the middle of the month nay mind the end. They are a vile lot.Its depressing.
God help any bloke who has to deal with that shower.0 -
It really is horrible when someone tries to do the right thing and still ends up having to dig their way out at the end of it. I wasn't accusing you of not putting money aside or not paying your ex - I simply asked if you did

Have you had a chance to look into whether there is any maladministration on their part then that it took so long?0 -
I am taking the advice of a poster further up who said I should open up a complaint,so thats the next step, wel see what happens.
The best of it is,I actually agree with the principle of the CSA,that fathers should pay for their offspring, thats fine and fair by me.
What I dont agree with,is doing this at a rate that will leave me questioning whether its actually worth it to get off my backside and work!
Iv never been out work since leaving school!
Its a joke, but as I said,im not the 1st and wont be the last to be put in this situation by these clowns.0 -
Have you had the assesment checked? If you contact NACSA then they will do it for nothing for you.
Also the steer is that NRP's should clear the arrears within 2 years, longer if it will cause considerable financial hardship, you have to prove that is the case and then they have to consider the repayment schedule that they have drawn up.
Unfortunately with the CSA you do need to tackle it on several fronts at once, so open your complaint but try the above at the same time.Free/impartial debt advice: Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) | National Debtline | Find your local CAB0
