Has anyone had any success with a complaint regarding an endownment sold pre April 1988?

Depends what kind of complaint. We complained when told our bonus on maturity was subject to higher rate tax and were eventually told that "oops" they'd made a mistake and no tax was payable.
Before making the complaint, find out how long they say they'll take to deal with it. Keep copies of everything and tell them that if they fail to stick to that date you'll ask the insurance ombudsman to assist.0 -
If it was sold pre 1988 by an IFA, forget it. But banks and life companies will look at complaints on a voluntary basis.Trying to keep it simple...0
