What did i do wrong? .......

ok ok now im not a great cook but my 12y old dd wanted to do some baking .. so we started on chocolate cripsies ... easy enough until i decided to be adventerous and add some golden syrup to the melted chocolate to make the crispies gooey .. and its gone solid ... so then i thought well same principle as flap jack ill add some butter so did that and OMG its gone horribly wrong ..............

what can i do to salvage it or does it just need to go into the bin ??

    is it solid? How about breaking it up and sprinkling it over icecream?
  • Not sure if this is the problem, but if water gets anywhere near the chocolate it will set solid. (the chocolate not the water...)

    When i have added syrup to my choc crispies, i add whilst melting the chocolate over the heat (or easier still is in the microwave) so the chocolate and syrup are melting at the same time, and as soon as it is melted, add to the crispies and put into their cases. As bonsoirbonsoir has suggested, maybe adding the cold syrup to hot, melted chocolate was the problem?
