Putting things right: complaints and learning from DWP

Mr J's complaint about the Child Support Agency
The Child Support Agency caused Mr J distress, affecting his relationship with his family and partner, because they failed to remove his details from their computer system when they found that he was not the man they were looking for. They failed to ‘put things right’ fully for more than four years.

The above is just one of the story's that the ombudsman has resolved through the maladministration of the csa

So to clarify you said Local Government Ombudsman:

If you have not heard by stated time or unhappy about the outcome, you can apply to the Local Government Ombudsman, who will investigate the case on your behalf, they have won cases for pwc and nrps and have managed to gain compensation for maladministration against the csa.

But you meant to say parliamentary ombudsman:

What can the Parliamentary Ombudsman look at?

    Cabinet Office (parts of)
    Capacity Builders
    Capital for Enterprise Limited
    Care Quality Commission
Central Advisory Committee on Pensions and Compensation
Central Bureau for Educational Visits and Exchanges
    Central Office of Information
Certification Office for Trade Unions and Employers' Associations
    Charity Commission
The Chief Inspector of Criminal Justice for Northern Ireland
    Child Maintenance and Enforcement Commission
Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service (CAFCASS)

If you have no luck with complaining to the CSA and if you know your MP you can get him/her to take your complaint to the
    Parlimentary and health service ombudsman

Its always just easier to say what one means at the start!
When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.

    Links with other bodies

    Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman

In 2003 Ann Abraham, the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman and Tony Redmond, the Chairman of the Commission for Local Administration in England (the Local Government Ombudsmen), made proposals to the Cabinet Office and the Department for Communities and Local Government for legislative changes to facilitate closer working between them.
After a public consultation exercise and scrutiny by Committees in both Houses of Parliament, a Regulatory Reform Order (RRO) came into force on 1 August 2007. It amends the primary legislation that set up the Parliamentary Ombudsman, the Health Service Ombudsman and the Local Government Ombudsman services.
In broad terms the Order enables the Parliamentary Ombudsman, the Local Government Ombudsmen for England and the Health Service Ombudsman for England to work together collaboratively on cases and issues that are relevant to more than one of their individual jurisdictions.

You will find the above Local Government Ombudsman and the Parlimentary Ombudsman are linked together, so I was not wrong when I stated the Local Government...So one needs to get their facts right. I was only trying to help the poster, your sarcastic comment need not of been made!!!!

Ok guys i think i will deal with 2nd line complaints just now and maybe get my MP on side again .Bottom line i am sick to the back teeth complaining and just want the incompetant (o)holes to do their job correctly .
Sometimes it is more bother than its worth complaining as these never get investigated properly anyway .

After today once my next set of complaints are away that is it .I will pay off my alleged arrears and forget about the CSA (until paydays) :)

Cant be bothered my (o) now as it will all come out in the wash anyway .I have one more 2nd line complaint to amke tonights and the rest of my Dp files go into a filing box with all my recent correspondance .It seems they all look after each other anyway but i will maybe pursue the inhibition order as it is now apparent my account has been overpaid to the tune of £25 pw since Sep 2006 - at least March 2009 .

The LGO would have no interest in a CSA case tehrefore they would not be involved with it as your own text indicates. Therefore at the most the complaint would simply be passed to the parliamentry ombudsman which is an unrequired delay in the process. You are also working on the presumption that the OP is in England and not one of the other constituent nations of the UK where the local government ombudsman for England which you refer to in your text has no power!

I will toddle of down to my Scottish labour MP on a Saturday morning for a cup of tea and a blether .He has stuck his oar in for me in the past but fell on deaf ears :rotfl:

Seems this is controlling my life now and getting nowhere fast so have decided enough is enough and will wait till the tribunal is over
