Belkin 54G Wireless Router, USB adapter & mini optical mouse - £34.99

Folks,

A decent price on this wireless bundle from PC world. This is suitable for cable users. (ADSL users beware this does not contain a modem)

The package contains:
Belkin F5D7230UK4 54G Router
Belkin 54G USB Adapter
FREE Laptop optical mouse!

I have picked mine up the other day and it works a treat with my NTL broadband. Not much use for the mouse though (It is instore at £9.99 alone) but a still a good price without.

Any questions ask away!

Deal here...

Cheers

Belkin kit isn't worth any money, in my opinion. I have an older version of that wireless router with ADSL: it doesn't do 54g reliably, it overheats and it has hidden configuration screens that you need to access if you want to use it with VOIP. I have other buggy Belkin equipment and won't buy any more of it now.

Sorry to be negative about the offer, but I think it's priced low for a reason :-/

A few of my friends have had Belkin and they havent got a good word to say about it. Save up and buy a decent d-link, linksys or netgear instead.

I love my Belkin router. I've never had a single problem with it. Much better than my oven hot Linksys. Yes, I do have two 54g Routers in my house. No dead spots in my humble abode.

I have this router following a post in grabit about 6 months ago & I have got so fed up with it disconnecting that just last week I finally unplugged it.

At the time of purchase there was advice on here saying don't bother with these routers they randomly disconnect & I thought "I'll be alright, I probably know better" but how wrong I was.

It got to the point where it would only stay connected for a few minutes! I would remove the power & reinsert it to get an extra few minutes connection out of it. That was (somehow[?!]) ok while browsing but the final straw came when I was playing couter-strike source & having a field day when it disconnected on me.

Please don't buy this router without heeding this caveat: it is very likely that you will have trouble with it. No amount of techy knowledge will help you, it is a hardware/design problem.

A link to google "belkin F5D7230 disconnects": http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=belkin+F5D7230+disconnects&btnG=Search&meta=

p.s. the router doesn't look like the photo on pcworlds site (just like the time I bought mine from them). It has one antenna & is about 13cmx13cm square, not rectangular.
