Help with Barclays and Barclaycard

Hi All,

Needing a bit advice with the fowllowing.

I have offered to give a full and final settlement to barclays. I had wrote to them and heard nothing so i rang them the other day they have accepted an offer. Thing is i told them to send me a letter to confirm this and they have sent me the folloiwng.

Dear Miss xxxx

we write with reference to your recent communication and telephone conversation with xxxx

we are prepared to accept the amount £xxxx as a lump sum payment and not pursue you further for the debt, provided that the payment is made by xxxx date.

Thing is not sure if the wording is right for me to pay them. Ie they mention nothing about is being satisfied in full. that no other 3rd party with come for the money. I'm just wondering what to do?

And second question. I have wrote to barclaycard twice to offer full and final and i sent the record del and they have both been delieverd and signed for and i have heard nothing from them regarding these offers. So today i have given them a call and they have said on the phone that they do not do full and finals. I was wondering if anyone else as had the same response.

Any help would be great.

Barclaycard may not pursue you but the Debt Collection Agency the sell your account onto will (and don't think that they won't do that).

You want a letter saying they will accept your payment as full and final, nothing less

Hi Guys thank you for the response.

The letter what i have quoted on here is from barclays saying that they will accpect an offer for full and final on a loan i have with them.

It's just by what people have said on they board i don't think the wording in the letter is good enough.
So was wondering what to say to them regarding it? Ie do i say that the letter is not worded they way i want or something else if that makes sence.

And my second question is that have i written letters to barclaycard to offer full and final and they have recieved both of these letter (as sent them record) and they have not replied back to me. But when i have rang them to ask why they have not replied the bloke on the phone just said that Barclaycard do not do full and finals.

As were pagenotfound2K as stated that they have offered her a full and final.

I know that they debt is still with barclaycard and i have not been defaulted on this act. Is that why they want offer me full and final? As i have read on this board that you are more likely to get full and final if the debt has gone to a DCA.

Sorry for long post but really need help with all this.

    Cheers
