Question about Spending Diaries

  • I found last time I was doing a spending diary I was writing everything down, BUT, I was writing down £40 petrol on credit card, then writing down when I paid the card, so in essence writing it down twice, so for those people who do still use cards, make sure you only write it down once, I had a heart attack the first month I did this, i could understand how I had spent so much, 10 minutes of staring at my piece of paper (can't be arsed with spreadsheets, although microsoft money is a lovely package!!!) I figured out what I had done, panic was over!!!
I believe that I have the strength to make my dreams come true

  • I write everything down and check my internet banking at least twice a day in case I've forgotten something - which is nearly always :o

    Good luck with it all.

yeah, did the same. I basically write it down as a "SPEND" when it shows on my credit card statement, but when I pay off the credit card, I just ignore it (as I'm paying off something I've already recorded)

Does give you shock the first time you make the mistake, doesn't it....
