advice on guarantor mortgage

my son has recently graduated as a teacher. At the moment he has a potential income of £18,500 per year, but no permanent contract. (He will doing supply teaching) Is it possible for him to get a mortgage as a first time buyer with me as the guarantor, as I am a home owner with a good permanent salary. If so would it be best for me to approach my current building society, the Halifax.

It is possible for him to get a mortgage with you as guarantor but I'm not sure about the supply teaching bit. I will ask a few of the more flexible lenders I know and come back to youI am a Mortgage Adviser
