Solicitors Fees for a first time buyer

Hello all,
I'm a first time buyer and just trying to do some budgeting. I have seen my banks mortgage advisor and they have told me how much i can borrow on my wages and with my deposit. I'm pretty happy with the results especially the amount i'd be paying back monthly.
Now i need to figure out solicitors fees, i'm gonna try and get 3 quotes but i need to know some idea of what i'd be paying, the house i have in mind will be about 105k, so with this figure would someone be able to advise me on fees.

Also, once i have selected a solicitor, and make offers on houses will he/she recharge everytime an offer is made?

thanks!

You can get this online for research. But as a FTB I would try and find a local Solicitor so you can see them face to face.

I would imagine your looking at between 600-1000. Freehold will be cheaper than leasehold in most cases.

Dan you're on fire tonight!! Budget £1,100 all in and you should be ok assuming it's nothing compiclated. As Dan says, a good local firm that you can walk in and see (and actually deal with a lawyer belive it or not) could be really helpfull.

As always, family and friends should be able to relate good/ bad experiences about local firms which will help.

Don't just go for the cheapest....to a point you get what you pay for.

You would only instruct a solicitor after your offer has been accepted, so you can (in theory) make offers as many times (and on as many properties) as you like without obligation. When you instruct a solicitor they will send you a contract to sign, and then if either side pulls out there will usually be some fees payable, although I think most solicitors will charge a lower amount based on the actual work done. Some do "no sale no fee" but their prices will probably be on the higher side for that reason.
