I need short term help! Where do I go

Basically I've not taken enough care with this months budget, moved house etc miscalculated by £500

What's the best way to fix this quickly bearing in mind I can pay this off by the end of this April at the latest

Credit cards, cut up and they're being paid off eventually - Not an option

Refuse to pay APR of shocking percentages from some of the google searches. I'm trying to become debt free not add fuel to the fire

Need some ideas...Any help greatly appreciated

Have you tried asking the bank for a temporary overdraft?
Do you have any loans that you could ask for a repayment holiday?
Anything you could sell to raise some of it?
How soon do you need the money?

    Thanks Tixy!

My overdraft is £100 and I'm into it. Not sure if I should extend this to cover what I need or not, or if that's a good thing to do

Loans are already off my account on the 1st of every month as are all bills, so they're cleared already

Already got stuff on ebay, not enough to help me to the level of 500

And need this fixed asap, the money in my pocket is all I have

Well if you are able to get an overdraft increase it would certainly cost less than the payday loan types of places.
Also have you worked out if you can cut down on what you need to spend? is £500 the minimum you need?
For things like food can you make a list of what you already have so you only buy essentials? do you have vouchers or reward points you could use up to buy food?
If you need fuel is there any scope to lift share with someone or work from home or anything?

If you can pay it off the best thing to do is ask your bank to increase the o/d to £600

Right. I'm calling the bank now...

I've already cut the spending way back, it's a work thing abroad that's added to the problems otherwise I would be on the soup diet and become a hermit for the rest of the month.

Been through the cut back procedure before to an extreme length and it's helped loads, no more fags, booze, coffees out, movie once a month, eating all deals from supermarket, walk to work, loads of great stuff on this site.

Couldn't have done it with out this site and the people on it...

    So my thanks again!!!

Can you ask your employer for an advance?

Is there a local credit union you could try to borrow from?

If work will be repaying your expenses for abroad then I would suggest you tell them bluntly you can't afford to subsidise them and they will need to advance you the money in advance.
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,
Had the whole of their cash in his care.
