I thought about that, but the beads only just fitted the needle through them. Wondered about some kind of nylon or wire but liked having it blue.
love what you have done and have had the same idea myself except have gone for just the swarovski heart on a silver chain. i did look at using beads too, and if you want wire then the two types there are are beadalon and tigertail. they come in all different thicknesses and are designed for jewelry making so would be perfect, but... (and this is the reason i decided not to) you the will need to get fastenings, and possibly at least one tool to attach the fastenings, so it becomes more expensive, and dont know about you but i was trying to keep the jewelry cheap, my hearts and chains have worked out about £3 each.
so my personal favourite is the thicker ribbon and just the heart - but i wouldnt have it as a choker i would have it longer. But if you like the addition of the beads then i would go for that one but keep it on the ribbon you have as think it looks fine. hthgetting married: 02/10/10

lol so have just read the rest of the posts and realised you already have fastenings and your costs are working out cheap so i would get the wire and give it a go - theres lots of ebay sellers too if you want to see if you can get it cheaper. did you use a tool for the fastenings? i just assumed you were tieing the ribbon. just interested to know how easy they were to fix, and would be interested to see if its as easy on wire, as i may be tempted to use wire instead of chains as have lots of beads i bought to use in my bouqet (havent bought the chains yet just have my eye on them on ebay!)getting married: 02/10/10

Thanks Dizzie, I was thinking about that! People will certainly be getting HM necklaces for christmas!
Bubbles, I just used the pliers out of the shed! (I think they are pliers, the ones that don't actually cut the wire, just squeeze it?!) It's a bit fiddly and obviously I haven't done it on the wire yet so not sure how easy that is but it's not difficult, just needs patience.Bump due 22nd September0
