becoming a door supervisor (Bouncer) the stereotype is a bloke with his knuckles dragging on the floor, a few years ago i would of agreed. I've been doing the doors for 8 years granted it's not everyones cup of tea, late nights, cold outside everyone getting drunk and you have to stay sober, being an agony aunt/uncle, sorting out fights and students knee deep in their own vomit....BUT the industry is lacking in people with the ability to deal with these problems espcially females! you dont need to be massive, you need to be able to back your team, have a sense of humour (if your a newbie you'll get a joke or 10 played on you to start with) and deal with people. I take home about £800 a month after tax for a fri/sat night 15 hours in total, you might not earn this much as a newbie but expect £10 an hour at least.
some companies will pay for your SIA badge if not and you can spare the £245 then you'll make it back in the first month (badge last's 3 years)
Anyone that currently works the doors in your local area will be able to help you find a company and companies to avoid.....if you need any advice about doorwork please drop me a line....
Finally The Rock has come back to MSE....

Have to say oh is a security officer, and whenever he gets fed up of where he works and looks for jobs, its always the door supervisor ones that are the best paid - however I won't let him work there as that's what his Dad does and I don't want him ending up like him lol!
