Im behind with payments as I cant afford £140 a month off my £900 spent I rang up to ask if I can pay less but they said the only amount I can pay is £120 im struggling and the woman didnt even seem bothered.
Ive got a disabled son and am on joint income support with my partner as he lost his job last may.
Over the past few months bills have got higher and I have had my first quartly bills since moving into my new house as before i was living with parents so its all very stressfull.
I owe littlewoods last months and this months amount and i can only afford to pay them £20 :(I did tell them last week I could have the money by this tuesday but I havent got enough.
I did buy some food shopping with some of the money i was gonna pay them but I seriously did need to go shopping.
I ran out of wipes as my 6year old is still in nappies, ran out of the only cereal he will eat is wheatabix and we was trying to manage by keep inviting ourselfs to other peoples houses for tea but theres only so many times you can do that.
the food we have we will try and last us as long as we can.We hadnt done a full shop for over a month and ran out of everything even shampoo!
In august I will get 2grand so i plan to pay off littlewoods in whole in august but it seems ages away I keep thinking well if I use that 2grand to pay off littlewoods £900 and next £1,100 then i will have £300 free each month.
Next have been great though my normal payments are £150 but they agreed to let me pay £45 a month for the next 3 months.
what should i do??

Im in the same situation. I offered to pay them 100.00 for 3 montsh (my payment was 190.00) but as I had missed a payment all they would accept is 246.00 or I would be defaulted. Cant figure out the logic on that one.0

How do you pay littlewoods shell?
I wouldn't bother trying to speak to them on the phone. You might be better off to send them a letter saying you are seeking advice and just make a token payment (say £5) this month to all your creditors.
Then you really do need to seek advice from one of the debt charities. You cannot go on having no food for you and your son. Food comes before any unsecured debt repayments.
Here is the token letter template http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=21937969&postcount=52

Hi, I'm sorry, I don't know the address, but I just wanted to say that I really feel for you and I hope you get it all sorted out.
As another poster said, please put essentials like food before paying debts. I'm sure if you write to them and give them a breakdown of your finances, they will come to a more reasonable arrangement. I've always found it better to write than phone, as on the phone these companies can come across as really adamant that you must pay £X, but more willing to be reasonable if its all in black and white.
Good luck and take care.0 -
Do you have an address on the latest statement? thats what I'd go for.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0

You must buy food, pay rent and utilities before you pay Littlewoods.
Are you getting all the help you should get - carer's allowance etc?If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Hi
My mum as had a hell of a time with littlewoods. They basically put nearly £200 of charges on the account, although she had an agreement with them to pay off at £50 per month. Anyway after writting them a rather nasty letter, they have sent her a new statement to say that she only owes them £51
I think they use an in-house collection agents (part of their own company, I think - feel free to correct me if I am wrong), as she had a letter recently. I will find out the address and post it on here tomorrow.
GSLightbulb moment: October 2009 ¦ DMP began: May 2010Total Debt at LBM: Circa just under £9K
