I have been doing my own DMP for over 12 months now ,i have 2 loans with Lloyds everything has been going fine .Last month lloyds wrote to me they wanted my income & expenditure again they agreed an amount with me they asked me to increase my DMP by £2 per month which i have done .Shortly after i had agreed to increase i get a letter demanding all my arrears which is about £3000 saying i had 14 days to pay this ,i rang them asking whats going on i had only just renewed my DMP the lady said dont worry just ignore the letter i had received it because my debt was in the process of being moved to another debt just continue to pay the amount that i had agreed .Today i get another letter saying i have ignored there last letter i must pay the £3000 immediatly or they may take legal action .I have just rang again been told to ignore it again its because my debt is being transfered ,they wont give me the number of where my debt is being tranfered to ,they actually said they didnt know which deparment its going to and for me to wait until i get a letter from the department .I am worried because it looks like im ignoring there letters ,i have no idea whats going on just wondered if any one else had ,had this problem .

Hi Susie
I don't know about consumer debt recovery bit with regards to lloyds I think for the sake of keeping a papertrail I would be tempted to write back a short letter to Lloyds to say something like 'in reference to your letter I am not in a position to repay the debt. I can only afford x amount per month as agreed in February'
That way should the debt ever go to court at least they cannot say you ignored their letters.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Hi
I think they are Llyods in house debt collectersDMP mutual support thread member:3270 -
Are the letters you are receiving from Lloyds themselves, or from lawyers acting on their behalf. When our debt was transferred to the dca, we received letters similar from lawyers acting on lloyds behalf, but were told to ignore them, they're all part of the process that they have to do before the debt is passed onto their inhouse dca, which is BLS Collections.DFD February 2012

thanks everyone ,the letters im receiving are from Lloyds ,i had a credit card with lloyds and even though they did accept my plan they would not stop the interest eventually they passed the debt on to they where BLS collections and they where much nicer to deal with ,i wonder whether consumer debt recovery are BLS ?
I cant understand lloyds i only spoke to them 3 weeks ago and they re arranged my DMP for another 6 months so i thought everything was ok i wonder why they are now passing it on but maybe passing it on will be better for me .0 -
Much better! I've fought for 5 years to get my debt passed onto BLS collections, as I could never get on top of the debt with the interest that was being added. After 5 years, my lloyds loan went from roughly £11000 to £10500. And this is after paying £202 every month for 5 years to them on my dmp. To me, anything that means no interest being charged is a good thing!DFD February 2012

Hi again
My Llyods debt is with BLS and TBH they have been one of the easiest of my creditors to deal with, but I'm sure I have read on another post that the company you mention is part of Llyods, as you say they may be the same company.DMP mutual support thread member:3270 -
when did you get yours passed to bls scouselad? If i remember a correctly weren't you struggling to get them to do this a while back? That's good news!DFD February 2012
