Help dealing with Capquest

Hi I'm looking for any advice on dealing with these. Basically my OH had a loan with Egg in about 2005, which due ti financial circumstances we defaulted on and the debt was passed to capquest. Since then I have made some inroads to the debt and also successfully reclaimed ppi on the egg loan to reduce my total balance from around 25k down to about 14.5k, now after being too oversretched I missed one of the £100 monthly payments and they made me agree to £144.00 per month which we had been paying just about, then at the end feb my OH was made redundant (debt in his name only) so we wrote to capquest explaining the situation and paid a token £1 payment - he hasn't found work yet and has just been granted jobseekers allowance though we haven't received any money yet. Capquest then began a barrage of calls and were very rude they kept asking if my OH was at work obv trying to catch him out - we haven't had a call in a few days as i exchanged a few words with the last muppet who rang again asking if my oh was at work I asked him why they keep ringing with that question as they know damn well he has just lost his job and I asked for all future contact to be put in writing - he said we've sent over 14 letters - I'm presuming he meant since they took out the account ? Where do I go from here? Any help or advice? Thanks

well you need to make your request in writing yourself otherwise they can just say 'oh we have no record of that request ever being put in'

make sure you use the template on this site and send it recorded delivery so you will have proof that it was received and within a few weeks they shoudl stop calling.

another good thing to do in your situation would be to write up a honest and detailed SOA (statment of affairs) http://www.makesenseofcards.com/soacalc.html and post it up on these forums and we can try and help you spot areas of potential savings including some ideas on how to go about making them
    Drop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)
