Well I used my white bread flour to make lasagne sheets and tagletelle last week and it was beautiful! I froze the tagletelle and it was still much nicer than the dried stuff from the supermarket - should really make it myself more often!
perhaps using brown makes it wholemeal pasta and even better for you, however i'm not sure. give it a go and perhaps post if it is a success0 -

Although substitutes may work, pasta is usually made from semolina.
Semolina is made from durum wheat, from the USA. Durum wheat is yellow in colour and when milled it makes a pale yellow semolina flour.
If a strong flour substitute is used to make pasta, it will probably be made from UK or European wheat..............and won't give the same results.;)I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the 'I wanna' and 'In my home' and Health & Beauty'' boards. If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. I'll second that. In particular, I find that pasta with "ordinary" strong flour has an unattractive grey colour and a very ... errrmmmm .... floury taste. Tastes almost raw ... a bit like raw bread dough.
I didn't find it particularly appetisingWarning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
Yep, Waitrose has it, and my Asda stocks the same type, but it is in the special diets (gluten free, wheat free, low sodium, etc) section.
