What does anyone think about reading financial books to give them some inspiration?
I've borrowed the following from the library:
I can make you rich by Paul McKenna (I found this was more about making me appreciate what I have in life)
Rich Dad, Poor Dad 2 (Haven't read the first book and what I gained from this book is to focus on one debt at a time instead of paying a little over several debts)
Richest Man in Babylon (I'm half way through this but the advice I've gained so far is to save 10% of earnings every month - I will once debts are paid off!)
Can anyone recommend any books to give me more of an insight?
I got into debt cos I was unemployed for four months in 2008 and used 3 credit cards to support myself, plus I was embroiled in a nightmare visa situation and my husband wasn't allowed in the UK so I went to visit him every month for 10 months at a cost of £300 each for the flights and then there was spending money and our phone bills were horrendous - approx £200 each per month which I was paying.
He's back here now (been back for 8 months) so that's good and I can focus on eliminating my debt at last! He's got about £5k debt as well and I'm encouraging him to pay it back little by little each month - his debts are to friends and family and they aren't charging him interest thankfully!
