Who was the lender and did you use a broker?
  • Just a bit of anecdata:

My mortgage application was submitted on 25/2/10 to Nationwide through a broker and was approved today (11/3/10).

Good luck with yours, I hope it comes through soon :)

If it's a decision in principle you shoula have rcvd it by now
If confirmation of the offer, if straight forward a couple of weeks from submission

I had a mortgage issued from Halifax yesterday.. application went in at the beginning of February, and it would have been issued in about three weeks if my employer hadn't caused a two week delay by not returning a form promptly. It took 33 days for them to approve my application including the delay, so if everything goes smoothly for you then it could be considerably shorter than that.

With Nationwide it took 9 days from application to offer, obviously including the valuation. Valuation was carried out within 7 days of initial application and the valuer agreed with the selling price. :j

Compare this with Ing Direct - it took them 9 days to get the key facts out to me!!
