    I know how you feel. Just be careful if you change jobs that you don't get one that pushes you too hard and ruins your confidence or it could make you worse.
    I did CBT last year for social phobia and a year on, I'm probably worse than ever. My current job involves gathering information from lots of different people and I find it incredibly stressful. My employers are not happy with my communication skills and I could end up unemployed if it doesn't improve. The whole thing just makes me want to hide somewhere and never speak to anyone again as I have no confidence even to do the things I used to.

    So sorry to hear that!
    What CBT course did you do? Did you have help?
    Can you not seek more?
    :) Thanks to all who post comps! :)
  • well done you on being brave enough to admit that your life is not as you want it and for the courage to seek help through therapy.

    volunteering can be a great way to meet new people, learn new skills, increase confidence and feel a connection to/contribute to your community/wider society.

    there are lots of ways to find somewhere to volunteer, including:
    * approaching organisations you're interested in;
    * talking to your local volunteer centre who keep lists of volunteering opportunities (find yours at http://www.volunteering.org.uk/WhatWeDo/Local+and+Regional/VolunteerCentreFinderGoogle);
    or using websites like http://www.do-it.org.uk

    best of luck and do keep us posted with your progress
    Boyfriend & I have saved £12K in two years, thanks to careful budgeting and keeping a record of what we spend. I've never paid myself this amount of money before - it feels great!
