Anyone please point me in the right direction to get some top soil (2 tons) in the Bangor area...was quoted over £80 for screened top soil this morning and don't want to pay that much!

Dont know any places in Bangor, but could be worth trying a small local builders merchants... our local one in Burnley, Lancashire does decent topsoil and it cost me £23.50 for a ton with free delivery the other week....

Hi,
Caz did you every get sorted with soil? I'm installing a raised bed and am looking to find out what price to expect to pay. Would only need about 0.8m3 of soil - think that equates to roughly 800kg of the stuff.
What price per ton is topsoil in NI these days?Regards, Robin.2011 MFW # 34

Caz,
Ace skips in Duncrue, Belfast Harbour will let you have top soil for free - only snag is you have to turn up with a trailer to collect it (they do load it for you though).0 -

Caz,
Come off at Fortwilliam Roundabout, head into towards the docks and turn right at the first set of lights (beside Portside Bar). this is Duncrue Road. Drive down to the bottom and Duncrue Pass is on your left.
The soil is screened so as good as you'll pay £80 for........
Hope this helps. Saved me a fortune a few months ago.0 -
