joint mortgage application kept secret from parents?

Hi all,

A strange question but something I really need to know if anyone could help me.

So my partner and I want to get a joint mortgage. However, my partner still lives with her parents and doesn't want them to find out we're applying for a joint mortgage.

I started filling out mortgage forms with my details as the main applicant so all correspondence goes to my address. However, when you fill in the details for the second applicant, it obviously asks for their current and previous addresses.

Will any correspondence go to the addresses given? What checks do they do on the addresses?

Many thanks in advance.

Andrew.

Electoral roll checks would be made but there is no way that the parents would find out about that. There may be postal correspondence, things to sign, illustrations etc but unless her parents open her post then I can't really see a problem.

Many thanks Leon. Sounds like it could be okay.

However, I've noticed my mail recently from different companies has a company logo on the envelope which is reallyy annoying...

Is there no way we can just get them to send correspondence to me?

    thanks.

If you're the main applicant they should only send the details to you, I'm on a mortgage with my Dad and he doesn't recieve any corrispondance from them. I might be wrong...

Would be good if you can pursuade her to tell her parents though or it might get tricky when she's packing her bags,

She wouldn't be allowed to take out a mortgage if she were under 18. As others have said, generally all post goes to first named on application.

I know, that's why I asked, particularly as she lives with parents. I thought someone over 18 would be mature enough to tell the parents.
