Silly Student Loan question

This is going to sound a little silly.

I can't pay off my Student Loan, the website doesn't let me! The minimum card payment is £5 and somehow the payments they calculated have left me owing just £0.02

So if I can't pay by card what do I do, tell them to look behind the sofa?

I'll be calling them tomorrow, this is just silly.

I'd stick 2p in an envelope and post it to them.

    The SLC are muppets. :rotfl:

A triumph of common sense!
A similar thing happened to me a few years ago with British Gas and I didn't pay my 2p bill and they threatened to cut off my supply!

    It's silly, isn't it?

Sometimes you really need a person to be managing these debts and not a computer but yes, I was really pleased that they had a friendly person on the other end of the phone that was empowered to apply a bit of common sense to the whole situation.

If only every organisation was like that!
  • When I closed my kays account I used my commision, but there was 3p outstanding for which I recieved a nasty letter.I stuck a 2p and 1p to the letter and posted it back to them, never heard from them again.

<cynic>Get it is writing, or at least post them a copy of your version of what they said and keep a copy for 6 years. It does look like enough of an excuse for a DCA to buy it and chase you.</cynic>
