If possible I would like to remortgage, I have had my current mortgage since 2006 when I bought the property, and here are all the facts [& debts]!:(
Current mortgage is variable, need to remortgage if possible before rates go up.
Property valued between 125k & 130k
Outstanding mortgage 96.5k & secured loan of 4.8k
Want to consolidate some stupid mistakes . . . . .
Barclaycard 1.5k & Vanquis 2.4k
I also have a car loan with 2 years remaining, which will continue, no plans to settle this.
I have no missed payments on my credit file and no defaults, I have one late payment due to paying early as I was on holiday when the payment was due, and ended up paying before the statement was sent!
I work in the NHS, earnings of 30k, my partner is on IB which is nearly 5k a year. Current mortgage is joint, but either a single or joint application would be appropriate.
Ideally I would like a remortgage of 105k, having looked at some lenders even with a rate of 8% I would save on my current outgoings!!!!!
I know I shouldn't have these extra debts, and I will not be accruing any more!!!!!!
I have not come on here and asked for help to be criticized, but I would appreciate some guidance about my options from someone in the know.
Thanks in anticipation

Based on your figures I can't see any problem. You'd be borrowing over 85% of the value of the property so you wouldn't get the best rates, but still less than 8% with a mainstream lender.0

and you would get rid of that wretched Vanquis card...it has an apr in the region of 40%...enjoy cutting it up..0

Thanks for your responses, I have never remortgaged before ! Where do I start?

I took my initally mortgage through a broker and paid a fee and I am loathed to do that again, if there are other options? ? But if I take advice I want to go to someone or somewhere that is reliable, I have searched numerous options myself, and read Martin's little booklet, but don't have the confidence to make such a big decision on my own."Life can only be understood backwards, but it must be lived forwards "

ask a friend/family/colleague to refer you to an adviser they have used and been happy with...0

This should indeed be relatively straightforward.
And by making overpayments, you could possibly lessen the impact/cost of turning the card debt into secured debt on your property.
How much does the car loan cost per month? That would affect your total mortgage potential, but I'm guessing it's nowhere near high enough to put a stop on your plans.
You could be looking at low to mid 5%s for fixed rates.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
