Have you looked at the option of Open Unversity to get a degree.
I had a feeling that some Uni's where offer 3/4 year degrees that qualified you at the end to be a teacher.
But of course she may have to take a foundation year so making it 4/5 years in fact.
But I think in the short term you need to look at getting your finances under control. Before you can think about anything long term. And you need to think about the costs of being a student. You children may well have to go in childcare. Some uni's offer it cheap. But are you going to be able to afford that plus books etc with out taking student loans
If you are working 9-5 5 days a week. Is there any reason why your wife could not get a job evenings or nights stacking shelves in a supermarket. Not glam but could help pay the bills.
Hopefully once you psot your SOA best to start a new thread called SeaSmart SOA otehr wise it might get lost.

Your debts are not that bad compared to your income. I think your plan will work, but you clearly need to cut back. You need to...
1. Do statement of affairs.
2. Do spending diary.
3. STOP SPENDING.
Your aims in life (to have stay at home mum) and your wife to train as a teacher are not at all unrealistic, given your income, but you will BOTH need to be on board and be comitted to achieving them. Sticking to small budgets is hard at first, but you will get used to it. I look forward to your SOA.0
