I did a hot wash earlier on my towels. It takes well over two hours so I was gutted to realise a minute ago that the ball with the washing powder in is still on the side!
Does it matter?
Do I need to wash it all again, or will it be Ok without considering it was a 95-degree wash?

Hi Skintchick, no they should be okay.
Any particular reason why you wash on a 95 degree, my towels all get done on a 40 every time. Always come up clean, smelling lovely. Cant help but think youre wasting leccy but apologise if you have good reason.
I've been washing towels since i was 17 and i just got my bus pass and Ive never had a problem.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Hi, your towels should be fine. That is a very hot wash, so should kill any germs etc - very rarely use such a hot wash myself. Also, there is always some washing powder residue in the washing machine, so it won't be totally without it. In fact you'll probably have done your washing machine some good running a wash without soap.0

If your towels look clean, than they will be fine. I usually wash mine at 40 as well.

Oops, I put my load on half an hour or so ago then noticed the ball with the washing liquid in it was sitting on top of the washing machine! Fortunately I was only a couple of minutes in to the wash. I'm sure your towels are fine - 90 deg should kill/clean anything. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

If they look and smell clean then they are.
And why the 90 degrees?0 -
hun, unless they went in absolutely filthy and smelling of liniment or such - they should be fine!
for house towels i wash at 60 and the cycle takes about 55 minutes.
for towels my oh used to take to rugby - they went on boil wash! i swear he used to clean his boots with them! and they stank!
I too have forgotten the washing powder - but if it comes out clean (and dont forget some people only have water to wash clothes with) dont worry bout it!0 -
Unless there were washable nappies in there, they'll be sparkly clean! If there were nappies, I'd give them a short, cool wash with powder/napisan.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

I`ve done this before when washing the dogs towels which were covered in horrible mud, i forgot the powder and washed at 40 and they all came out sparkling clean. Thats when i started reducing the amount of powder that i use and now only use half as much.
I`ve had my washing machine for over ten years and its never seen a wash over 40 :rotfl:

the other day i put my work uniform in the machine - i was in a hurry and forgot the powder - once i had realised my mistake i went to the machine to turn off and restart with powder and found the machine was washing with suds from residue powder from previous washing - no need to restart! i was quite amazed by the washing suds in the machine.Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. I once put washing in the machine but didn't turn it on, was going to do it when I got home.
Got home to find my OH had hung it on the line
you would have thought that even if he hadn't noticed it was still dirty he might have got a clue as it was still dry :rotfl:0
