Worried woman about my bank account

Hi
I am sorry if this is a silly question but someone maybe able to help me.
I have been discharged since January 2010 after a very clean bankruptcy. My question relates to my bank accounts.
I have a Co-operative Bank account and a Yorkshire Building Society account what I opened after the date of my bankruptcy. As I have now been discharged, will the OR have any future claim over the funds in this account. I really want to start saving in my YBS but I am concerned the OR will take the funds.
As I say, I have been discharged and I have a certificate of discharge. I was thinking that after I have been discharged, the OR does not have any claim, but I really need to help and advice on this issue.
Any help would be wonderful.

Hi there,
If you do not have an IPA and are discharged you are free. and the OR will have no further intrest, unless you have some undealt with assets ie house.
Good luck sizzler:)0 -
I have a YBS internet saver account, I opened this 2 weeks after going BR, I am trying to use this account to try and save any money that I can while I can. Any money I do save will come from my surplus, and therefore I do not see that the OR has anything to do with it.:pB&SC No. 298

I would be careful with that Dojoman, I do recall a poster on here saying that the OR had taken what they considered to be "excess savings"out of their account whilst BR? It does seem ridiculous that BR's are not encouraged to save, but that is the logic behind very limited access to savings accounts.

What is classed as"excess savings" ? To be honest I do not think my meagre savings will ever be classed as such:o:pB&SC No. 298

I can't remember the detauils of the OP, but I do recall being horrified at the prospect. I think it was about £500.

Really Darnit? but what about the amount you are allowed for holidays?
We are allowed £80 a month for hols, which I am planning on putting into savings so we can have a wee holiday next year, surely even the OR's would realise that you have to save the money to get the holiday??0 -
Hi friends,
This person is discharged so surely OR will have bo intrest?0 -
Well I was worried, so I worked out to the penny exactly how much I am allowed to have for annual costs and keep a spreadsheet to show exactly how much of my account is for what. I will ensure that the figure for each thing is drawn out when it is supposed to, even if I decide not to use it for that. I can only assume that the other OP was not supposed to have any spare income for such things and perhaps some uncertainy about the SOA? Otherwise I can't how it makes any sense. I would imagine most pepole claim what they can and perhaps spend it a little differently? ie save some clothes money by being frugal and spend more on an annual holiday? So this might explain why someones annual savings might be more than their SOA allows?
We are probably being a little reactive here, as we just don't know enough for certain about the other OP circumstances, not everyone is honest with the OR, and possibly us. But it is enough for me to have some money drawn out and in my safe!

Sorry I think we have hijacked the OP's thread!

Hi, firstly, thank you for everyone's comments. I was thinking of opening a new account with Nationwide - cashcard account. Does anyone have any dealings with Nationwide after bankruptcy0
