Thank you for all the great suggestions.

I'm still undecided about the hiring a car / using public transport issue. I live in a rural area and know what the buses are like here - very poor - and usually when I go abroad I use the public transport, but then I'm maybe more going to cities. I am sure that belfast has more than adequate public transport and the usual parking problems, but I wonder how manageable the north coast is by bus?
  • Pee, I know there is a 'Causeway Rambler' bus service but I'm not sure if it runs throughout the year. You could look up details for bus/rail services on the 'Translink' website.

Hi Pee. I've pm'd you but would also recommend a night or two stay at The Smuggler's Inn in Bushmills and a meal at the fantastic Portstewart Golf Club. Best of luck!
