Anyone had a package wedding in Norwich/Norfolk?

I've been looking at the package wedding deals that people on MSE have been talking about...

Has anyone had one in the Norwich or Norfolk areas that can recommend or not as the case may be?!

We want a budget wedding but something that also feels special for us.. and doing everything ourselves (food etc) doesn't really appeal as we have 4 young kids the easier the better, but also don't want to pay loads for rubbish food/venues etc..

Hope some of you lovely people can help!!!

  • Hi Kez,
I am getting married in Norwich in 3 months time. We have a little one too and are on a very tight budget so have gone for a package wedding at a hotel. Feel free to PM me if you want more specific details! We are having great fun making it feel very special and personal and the venue are more than happy for us to have things our way!

We are getting married at Fritton House in May. Its going to be small with only 12 guests for wedding then 70ish for reception. Its costing us £2200 for which they provide 3 course wedding breakfast for 12 and a drinks package, then a buffet in evening and also staying the night. A big charge was the registrar which is £350 plus £60 for giving notice.

Hi Sarah (tesco vouchers if Im remembering right??;))
Buffet is for 70ish (although only charging us for 50 as they said you dont need to feed each individual person)
When you download their pdf brochure, instead of looking at all inclusive look at venue hire. This brings the cost down. And they gave us a discount because theres only going to be 12 for the wedding and meal. We have to provide a DJ and decorate the barn, but other wise they supply, tables, table linen, staff etc. If you speak to Nikki she can list each individual thing you want and charge you appropriately. HTH

Yeah I miss all those vouchers too, I really begrudge paying for my shampoo now, lol. Ive still got quite a lot of Plax, its only me who uses it so its lingering in my spare room.
Congratulations to you too, when are you looking at getting married? Its a shame about Southwold, that would have been really nice. Fritton House is really nice, its all separate to Fritton Lake park now, so you're all on your own and pics by the lake after should be good (hoping we get some warmer weather by 28th May). The barn where you get married is really nice, not too big, not too small, they've also redecorated it with new flooring and paint. Let me know if you need any other info.
Good luck for your wedding too. :T

 yes recognise yours now too, dont go on there much anymore tho, Ive been shopping around for offers now, no good glitches to draw me to tesco and I cant use my coupons. Rubbish isn't it!
  • Yes very! I don't either. Am actually considering selling my remaining deals to put the cash towards the wedding. Most of them were used in Goldsmiths for our wedding rings ;)
