alleged debt problem

I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right place here so please feel free to point me in the right direction.
Just before Xmas I received a letter from PastDue Credit Solutons claiming I owed someone £90, I wrote back asking for details, they responded with no mention of my letter but threatening all sorts of action. But this letter said in respect of Bskyb I replied stating to the best of my knowledge I owed them nothing and that they couldn't pursue me for a previous tenants debt ( I'm assuming thats what it is, as there was a dish on this house when we moved in and sky did pay a visit last summer).
I received no response to that, until 2 weeks ago when i received a threatening letter from Philips Debt Recovery, who claim they are pursuing me for PastDue.
I emailed them on 26th February ( I have an autoresponse receipt saying they will contact me within 7-10 days)stating I have disputed PastDue claim and according to OFT they shouldn't have passed it on while it was in dispute and could they please give me some information about this alleged £90.
Still no response from my mail but today I get a letter threatening me with Bailiffs, for not responding to their last letter.
What do I do? I've read through the OFT debt collection guidelines and both of these companies don't seem to have complied by them.
I'm starting to get frightened by all this, I've been lucky and never been not able to pay my debts, never had to deal with things like this, I just don't know what to do if they just ignore everything i write to them.

Hi Calliope, can't help with the legal side but I think I would put it in writing and sent it recorded delivery rather than email, at least that way you know they've definately received it. Good luck.0

Firstly, don't worry. They are relying on your fear and that you will pay up this small sum to make the problem go away. Don't.
They can not send bailiffs round, at least not without a court order and a warrant of execution. And that won't happen. They are bullying thugs preying on your vulnerability.
What would I do? Ignore them. Plain and simple. If you don't owe, you don't pay. If they say you do owe, they will have to prove it. To a court. And they can't.
So please do not be intimidated, and do not engage in any further correspondence. They will eventually crawl back under their stone until they find someone else to pick on.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

If you want to do something active.... resend the prove it letter, via recorded delivery, this time adding that further harassment until the debt has been proven with be reported to the FSA, OFT and their regulatory body should shut them up.
Good luck xSome days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

Good advice above. I also (if you're certain you have no debt with Sky) also approve of the 'ignore them' stance. They'll get bored eventually. Report to OFT for some added fun.
Don't worry, don't stress, and don't pay.Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j
