June 2008 received bill for £42,000

January 2009 LO served for £25,000

During 2009, Solicitors deal with my personal circumstances, receive Data Protection Files and clearly show £4,000 owed. Whole point of this is the original address given back in 1996 was wrong and I never received anything from them and paid my daughter directly.

The paperwork internally goes to Job Seekers department and now ends up in Hastings, showing a start of balance 02/09/09 £42,000.

March 2010 its now back to £42,000, with no particular demand just a letter saying this is what is owed. (basically we asked you to pay 0.0 since 2005)

No money has been debited, no court or personal meetings set.

We are going around in circles, even though this was dealt with. My original solicitor has left the practice and they have no-one else at the law firm who deal with child support claims.

My daughter is 24 and this is really getting beyind a joke.

Anyone who can give any advice, would be welcome

The original figure was an IMA, I hear many say its when the NRP is being evasive.

Truth is I was unemployed and no fixed abode and got help from my parents (thats back in mid-nineties). Wasn't even aware the CSA were after me.

To cut a long story short, 2008 receive demand for £42,000. Solicitor helps to get Data protection Files everything is blank. They do have a breakdown of what is owed and it clearly states £4,000 (think its £5 per week?) anyways they now want a full work history. Thats been given, but the most important factor is the confident address given was totally wrong. They have even checked with council records and mortgage records and it confirms what I have been saying all along. I wouldn't even mind paying the 4 grand and get closure!!!

The clsoing date of the case was 2005. LO was passed in the courts for £25,000 (up to July 2000) before the data protection files were sent out. All work records, home records, bank records, work history is blank. They went to a company in 2000, based on hearsay and I was never even there.

The argument I maintain is that I was totally unaware of the CSA even opening any case on me. My daughter is 24 and paid directly when I made contact from 1998??.

The case was lost in the vaults, but gets triggered at £50,000 (all arrears cases do), thats why they started to take action. The first letter I got suggested a 15k overcharge in 2008, it had obviously had been accumulating.

Data protection files also shows last action done by the CSA was 2001 and something in 2004, thats all. Its pretty detailed mid nineties.

No court dates set, no tribunal dates, nothing. Received one letter since requested data files back in Summer of 2009, plus the recent statement

    They are Blank.

Only the details (ie from 1996-1999) are blacked out, when you can see they were trying to trace me.

Several pages of blankness on the Data Protection files. Does say it cannot be suspendid as still on IMA, but hidden away on one of the forms says amoutn owed £4,000.

Data protection files show last attempted contact by the CSA 2002.

Haven't been told to pay anything since got laywer involved. Before then they even got baliffs on the case, but thats stopped for 12 months now. Baliffs didn't even come knocking once I got a lawyer..

Basically, keep getting periodic letters, one of which has my daughter born 1995, she was born 1985

    Makes you wonder though .

Demand answers from them as you would like closure on this .I would maybe get your MP to write to them as well and tell them to get it resolved .
