Vodafone Default (ID Fraud)

Hello,
Long time reader, first time poster
A few months ago, after getting declined for a credit card - I decided to check my credit rating via Experian/CreditExpert - upon doing so, I saw two accounts opened fraudulently in my name but with different DOB's then mine registered to my old address.
One was a DEFAULT with Vodafone for £137.00 and one was a credit card with Capital One. I immediately contacted CreditExpert who advised me to contact the parties directly and get this sorted. CapitalOne was easy to sort but Vodafone were the exact opposite of helpful - kept on asking me for my mobile number, account number and they seemed to not understand what was going on. I gave up on calling them send them a template letter I found online (requesting a copy of the original default notice).
I made some changes to this template letter adding that also the DOB on the default record does not match mine and I am a subject of ID Fraud and attached a front/rear photocopy of my drivers license and a cheque for £1.00 which they have cashed. This letter was sent to them via special delivery which has been signed for and the timeframe given in the letter has passed.
What would fellow MSA members suggest me to do now as this is causing me significant trouble obtaining credit?
Kind regards,
Ekin

I know we usually tell people not to call creditors, but as they are not technically your creditor, i would call them and ask to be put through to their fraud department.
Some companies require you to have a crime number before they will do anything and you need this sorted asap. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91
Dad Gift 6k ¦ Savings & Inv Tst: £2,500
Loan 10k: £0 ¦ Dad 5.5k: £2,270 ¦ LTSB: £0 ¦ RBS: £0 ¦ Virgin £0 ¦ Egg £0
Total Owed: £2,270 (+6k) 11/08/20110 -
I've received next to no help over the phone
I've asked for their credit control department, fraud department and just been tossed around - its unbelievable

Apologies for bumping but a question: as they've cashed the cheque, not provided the requested default notice within the 14 days specified in the letter (letter arrived to them 16/02/2010) - is there not another letter that follows this one (the one that usually results in them taking the default off)? I recall seeing one but I cannot find it now.0
