HI, any advice would be really gratefull!
i have a car on HP from Welcome and have had this since dec 07 and have about 19ish payments left on it.
when i was on maternity leave i missed a few payments but came to an agreement to pay an extra £30 a month to cover the arrears until the end of the contract (that was in sept 09). i have not missed a payment since then and have paid £230pm since then.
Today i get a letter from them saying that they want £625 (arrears) paid in the next 14 days also sent with a default notice and it said if i dont pay they will end my contract and start legal proceding immediatley!
Can they do this even though we came to an agreement of an extra £30pm and no payments have been missed since?
Thanks

i think the main thing is do you have the agreement in writing as to the overpayment agreement for the arrears?
you do have some wriggle room with the fact you have got evidence that you payment has increased from £200 to £230 a while back and (i hope) will have bank statements showing the increased payment
the thing i would do is write a letter back to them including copies of all and any proof you have as to the agreement you come to with them saying you dispute this extra charge due to the agreement that you already have with them, i am sure someone a bit better than myself might be able to draft some sort of letter or at least suggest certain lines that would be helpful
it might be worth phoning as well to inform them you are sending a letter with your reply and tell them what it includes to try and find out what their response might be, however you MUST send a letter in and keep a copy yourself as anything done on the phone means you have no proof you have done anything, send it recorded delivery so you also get proof they have received itDrop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0
