Help!

HI, any advice would be really gratefull!

i have a car on HP from Welcome and have had this since dec 07 and have about 19ish payments left on it.

when i was on maternity leave i missed a few payments but came to an agreement to pay an extra £30 a month to cover the arrears until the end of the contract (that was in sept 09). i have not missed a payment since then and have paid £230pm since then.
Today i get a letter from them saying that they want £625 (arrears) paid in the next 14 days also sent with a default notice and it said if i dont pay they will end my contract and start legal proceding immediatley!

Can they do this even though we came to an agreement of an extra £30pm and no payments have been missed since?

Thanks

Technically, you breached the original agreement so this no longer exists. Therefore they can issue a default notice.

I would write to them pointing out that you had agreed to pay an extra £30pm to cover this and that you have been paying this timeously since September.

Did you get this agreement in writing?

Are you paying Payment Protection Insurance on this? Could this have been missold?
