registery trust online that allows you to search for CCJs in anyones name at a specific address

Sorry to bother you again but which one do I want:

    1. England and Wales Orders & Judgments
    2. England and Wales High Court Judgments
    3. England and Wales Fine Defaults
  • oh i see. i have no idea hun. it does seem strange how they got our details - have you got yourself registered on electrol roll for new address? if so perhaps thats how they found you?

No I am not. I am guessing that HSBC guy just took a stab in the dark and tried his luck as they knew it was my parents' address.

If there is a CCJ under my name on that address what does it mean for me? I can't afford a CCJ my professional qualification will be stripped!

Certain professional qualifications require these to be 'declared' not always totally abstained from. If the CCJ is against you personally, the qualification holder, it is fraudulent not to declare such a judgement if and where requested. Sometimes CCJ's, e.g. in the case of police officers, do not make a difference to the position but must be declared to avoid the potential for blackmail etc. If you have something and declare it, it may lose the problem anyway (e.g. blackmail threat). If you defraud the qualifying body you are asking for trouble as you are potentially knowingly practising under a fraudulent qualification.

I'd be worried about treading on very dodgy ground not declaring a CCJ if it exists where your professional qualification depends on your open approach to such things.

    Dodgy dodgy dodgy.

I don't know if I have one as I have not searched yet. There is nothing to suggest that I have one. LFP, I totally understand what you are saying but if you look at what I did when I was depressed, strictly speaking that was fraud / theft! Not proud of it, hell that is all I have been thinking about since I have been on the mend and driving myself crazy by the minute.

The point is, declaring any CCJ may not have an effect. Not declaring it could last you until retirement as it would be non-declaration of a CCJ even in 30 years. Declarations are usually anything which would possibly affect your professional character or similar. Honestly having a CCJ may bring no problems, lying about a CCJ may just be a lifetime can of worms.

Whether you have one yet, you may well get one in future. I would much rather sort it out before it affects a career.

    Hi
It will be the first option you want orders & judgements. No they cannot trace you through your debit card (if you are really worried could you use someone elses card -your parents? (with permission of course!)). Anyone can search that info including potential employers etc.
Having a CCJ will not mean you are stripped of your AAT qualification/ or cause issues at work. You will however have to declare it annually.

If you find you do have a CCJ you may have grounds to have it set aside so all is not necessarily lost if you find you do have one.

    Good luck.
