Get Creases out of Dralon Velvet Curtains

I bought a pair of curtains which were reduced (as if I'd pay full price!) and when I hung them up they were very creased. I thought the creases would drop out but theres quite a few really bad creases in them. They are lined, can someone suggest a good way of getting these creases out? Being Dralon velvet they can't in ironed in the usual way.
Many thanks

i use my polti to do mine, but i would imagine any steam machine or steam cleaner would do the job, it works on velvet no probs, :)

Yes steam, I guess you know not to iron them even on the inside. If you don't have a steam cleaner could you borrow one? Or you could do what I did when I had bad creases in my draylon/velvet curtains. I have a power shower so I hung them up in the bathroom on a washing line device I put up just for that purpose and left the shower on with the bathroom door closed for a long time. it got the creases out completely and they were bad
    Thanx

    Hi,
I know this post was years ago, but I have the same problem with some new curtains. They are Jacquard polyester and cotton and are dry clean only and non iron. I have tried steaming one of the curtains with our Polti Vaporetto steam cleaner, but so far can't see any difference. Can anyone advise how long to apply steam and how many times? And am I likely to see results straight away? If I know I need to persevere then I will, but otherwise it seems like a waste of time. I have got 4 long curtains to de-crease!!
