Can someone help me please. I have been offered a job at £12,787 pro rata for 16 hours per week term time only. I will get paid monthly throughout the year. I thought it equated to approx £5484 actual salary but try as I will when I work it out I don't get anywhere near this figure.
Can anyone show me the correct way to work it what actual salary would be please. It's driving me mad.
Thank you.

I forgot to say that its 39 weeks0

I think it will be some thing like this...
If you were contracted for 52 weeks you'd actually work (about) 47 weeks and get paid for 5 weeks holiday. For your 39 weeks actually worked you'll also be paid for approx 4 weeks holiday extra ie. 43 weeks.
Non-teaching school staff are usually based on a full working week of 37 hours.
Therefore the calculation would be £12,787 * (43/52) * (16/37) = £4,785 less tax
Somebody may correct me on the above.
How does this compare to what you thought?Nice to save.0 -
Thank you - this figure is more like the figure I kept coming back to (around £4,700). Why employers can't give you actual salary instead of pro rata is beyond me!0

You will have to ask the employer what they count as full tme.
Depends if they count the full time salary as a term time(39week) salary or full year.
If it is term time then it should be pro rata on full time hours, what are they?
3 common hrs.
Full time £12787
16/35 £5845
16/37.5 £5456
16/40 £51150
