Renting / Letting in Edinburgh City Centre

Hello,
This might help:

I would stay away from Grant Management though - I've not heard anything positive about them!
You could try phoning a few of the agencies and letting them know what you're after. Sometimes they will keep you in mind if anything that looks suitable comes up, and let you know before they put it on their websites.
You could also try looking at Citylets and Lettingweb - they have flats from lots of different agencies.0 -
espc have a rental sectionThe mind is like a parachute. It doesn’t work unless it’s open.:o
A winner listens, a loser just waits until it is their turn to talk:)0 -
I advertised my flat on citylets: http://www.citylets.co.uk/ - as landlord I don't like gumtree! There are lots to let around those areas, but some are really poor quality student lets. There are a few agencies on Morningside Road, and a quick google will find them. Be prepared to pay decent rent for decent flats, but some haggling is allowed if you have good references and are a longterm tenant. If you can, visit Edinburgh and do the footwork; some tenements are not what they seem in adverts. Depends on what you want the let for I suppose, but there are some nice flats further out of town.0

Thanks all
@wallacebob I'm doing a post-grad then looking to stay, so will be a long-term let. Going up soon to look but wanted to get an idea of prices and locations.0 -
I’d second CityLets, and also Lettingweb.co.uk. The only thing with them is that they always give 0870 numbers for the agents, so it’s best to google the agent and phone them direct about the property0

I would also recommend Globerix at the moment- they're a lesser known site which amalgamates the different letting agents properties!
I'd also check out the back pages of some different papers, especially local ones. Also- local hospitals or colleges and uni's often have notice boards which have notices of flats and houses- another good way of getting direct contact with the landlords instead of using the letting agents!
