They may send a debt collector if they decide you have defaulted and cancel the loan. If they do they must tell you, however you can inform them you only want written communication so no calls or visits.

oh, my agent said to me before that i might get a manager come knocking on my door for being behind on repayments. would they really do this?
Yes but it will be the agents manager, really making sure that the agent is actually calling. If you explain your circs they can agree an informal arrangement. They would sooner you paid something than default.

Provident do not charge extra for being in arrears, thats why the interest is so high, to take account of it.

If you've only just taken the loan out though, it begs the question why, if you knew you couldn't afford it. I have checked my agreement and one of the boxes you sign on the agreement states:-
I confirm that I have thought about my finances and that I can afford to repay the loan....

A credit union is a local savings scheme where after you have been saving for a while you can borrow at good rates.

I had weekly repayments totalling £24, couldn't keep up, didn't pay for around 3 months !! then received a letter from my local office offering me reduced weekly payments totalling £6.50....this is now manageable and I have been maintaining regular payments.

hiya, i called the provident number and they've said they'll inform my local office and get a response to me within 5 working days...

im guessing i should have tried to call my local office rather than the 0800 number on the website?
