Equifax Free Trial

Hi all,

As anyone else had any trouble trying to cancel their free trial with Equifax?

I have been trying to get through to them on the phone for the last day and i keep getting but on hold.

I really wanna cancel this before my free trial runs out.

Any help i would be grateful for.

  • I too have had this but unfortunately the took out the £6.99 on friday. I tried to use the Customer Service links on the website and none of them worked. When I wanted to add a 'Notice of Correction' it did the same, hence wanting to cancel if I can't use it properly.

I also thought I would call the helpline but the only option that worked was 'Option 1' which described how to use the report. 'Options 2&3' were coming up as wrong numbers.

So to say I'm !!!!ed off is an understatement. Looks like it's not a concidence though!!!!

I eventually got through to them last week, after about 3 days of calling and an email (which was never replied to) and what was REALLY annoying was the 'we're busy and can't take your call' and then the line went dead....don't these places have switchboards?!?

I had signed up to their free trial, which I thought was 14.99 pm after, but I got suspicious after reading about some of their free trial on here, and when I checked it, it was the 69.99 after 30 days free trial, I was quite desperate to get through to them after that.
I found their web site really confusing, which is probably why I had the wrong thing,

However, when I did get through they cancelled it immediately with no questions, (unlike experian who were bu**ers to cancel with - he got a bit off with me and tried to convince me it'd be better for me to stay with them)

Only thing I can suggest is keep them on redial, you will get there eventually. Good luck!

People do seem to have trouble with this. Cancelling is not as easy for some as stated unfortunately!
In future you may be better off getting the reports sent to you for £2.

Having difficulty too - presumably if I ask my bank for a replacement card they won't be able to charge the one I gave them the number for?
