Nintendo Gamecube £29.99!!

Official Insert

Speech-Mark-Left.gif

What's the deal?

Toys R Us is discounting its stock of Gamecubes and bundles with several available in-store at £29.99.

Both black and blue consoles on their own (including one controller) are £29.99 but bundles including the consoles are the same price. (For the techies this is the original Gamecube with 485MHz processor, 40Mb of main memory, a custom CD-style drive and graphics developed by ATI).

Bundles available at £29.99 include:

Metroid Prime Pack:
Includes a black GameCube console, one black controller, a copy of Metroid Prime and a Metroid Prime nameplate that fits into the lid of the console.

GameCube Mario Kart Platinum Pack:
Limited Edition GameCube Platinum Console with Controller and Mario Kart: Double Dash

GameCube Black Donkey Konga Bundle:
Donkey Konga Black Pack including Black Console, Bongo Controller and Donkey Konga Game

GameCube Platinum Console and Zelda Wind Waker:
Platinum Game Cube and Zelda the Wind Waker software disk

Where and when?

This is in-store only and Toys R Us have said although it's nationwide stocks levels are different depending on the store. If you have a particular bundle you're interested in and are making a special trip it's worth ringing the store beforehand so you don't have a wasted journey. If you don't know where your nearest Toys R Us is you can check its storefinder here.

Absolute bargain. Clearance in Toys R Us, being discontinued. It's an awesome console, stunning graphics and great games which can be got quite cheap on ebay now. I got mine in Basingstoke and there was 1 left. I did ask and they said it was country wide but not online.

John lewis were clearing theirs out about 10 days ago, it was the special packs, one was a mario sunshine console pack, and the other was a metroid prime pack. Sorry to be vague, they were either £29.99 or £39.99, i wasn't really looking because i got mine from argos with mario smash football, when the offer was on.

  • I looked in the Peterborough store of Toys R Us at the weekend but they didn't have any GC consoles left. :( I really need one as well cos mine has just died on me!
  • I drove 40 minutes to Southampton after phoning to confirm they had some and what they turned out to have were bundles containing just the game and bongos, no console. I thought I had gone mad so spoke to staff who knew nothing more. I checked details of postig when I got home and am now not pleased as I had not gone mad. The same deal of bongos and game is £10 less online than in store. No money saving there, just petrol wasted and 20p on parking. Rubbish!

Nintendo's new console is out in a few months. It will play Gamecube games and accepts the same controllers, so you'll still be able to use everything you buy in the future if you decide to upgrade.

    Wow!
that is a really good bargain-I got a GC a few years back, I got the console and Donkey Konga for £40 (I think!)
  • ;) I got the GC with about 5 games, a controller and cheat cartridge for £25 (pre-owned) from a newsagent window ad last year :money: then picked up 2 controllers, a base (that holds the games) and memory card in Blockbusters (who were clearing out Gamecube stuff) for £5! (brand-new, not official Nintendo though) :D
