Can anyone recommend a cheaper/better way of sending a 1.88m long package within the UK than http://www.parcelflash.com, who want £11.74?

I've heard Staples stores provide a courier service for any sized parcel at a flat rate of £8, though there's no details of it on their website unfortunately and I've also heard that not all staff are even aware of it!

If you have a local branch you can try calling them to query it, or better drop in and go to the Customer Service desk.

I have received a 1.9m parcel through Royal Mai I know somewhere on their website they say 1.8m is the limit but obviously they didn't measure mine.

Maximum length 4 feet, unfortunately. Thanks for your reply though :)

I think the website says 1.5m, but I'll give it a go. Cheers.

  • If the item is thin as well as long , put it along the diagonal of a square box, thus making the length of the parecel shorter.

Yes - fab example of thinking outside of the box. Or actually, thinking in a bigger box than the original thing was in. Which is ridiculous when you think about it ... but that's Royal Mail for you :)
