Experian wont send stat credit report?

Despite previously receiving a £2 stat credit report from Experian they have emailed to say that unless I provide documentation they cant send me my report. Is this normal? They want a copy of my birth cert, which wont help as I havent had that name for 15 yrs and they also want copies of 2 bills, which Im not too happy sending. Im on the electoral roll and I paid with my personal debit card, so I dont see what the problem is, anyone else have any idea?

Hi Cleosmum
I'm not sure I'm afraid. I just thought I'd bump your thread from page 2 to see if any-one else can help you.
Good luck

Sounds like they want to confirm your identity, they won't send your credit report without checking that they are indeed sending the right report to the right person for obvious reasons so without sending the info they require you won't get your report.Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

This does happen quite often but usually when someone has just moved to a new address and the cra has not picked up on it yet.
Any problem in sending 2 bills and copy of passport or driving licence?0 -
I could understand if it was the first time I had requested it, but I have been here over 3 yrs and this is my 2nd request for one, the first wasnt a problem at all. They want my birth certificate, which is fine, but not of any help in confirming my ID and I could send them copies of 2 bills but I would remove the bill info, which they may then reject, I dont know. I think its really odd that last year they didnt want anything to confirm my ID and that I live here, but now they do.
I have emailed them, will see what they can suggest
