    Bankruptcy is NOT an easy option, but in some cases it is the only sensible solution. I hope that now you have done it you can rebuild your life. Good Luck

    Thankyou for this - a colleague at work seems to think it is an easy option and just said "so you're bankrupt then, so you just got your debt wiped off and then you can start to rack up debt all over again then" others were pleased for me as they know how hard I've tried to repay the debt. I had to tell him that I lose my half of the house and will have difficulty getting a bank a/c etc but to honest it fell on deaf ears.

    Nevermind eh! :rolleyes:

    I agree with that - it's not a decision to be taken lightly and it looks as if you have thought it through first.
    Congratulations - I'm glad you feel relief and hope you will enjoy your birthday

    Thankyou and yes I am determined to enjoy my birthday!

    The law allowed you the bankruptcy option.

    So all you have done is exercise your right that the law allows you to do.

    So if any one has a problem with that they should complain about the system not those who use the system.

    Good Luck to you Bluezone !!!

    Thanks Angelface - thats good to hear. I am hoping to stay in this rented property for about 4 years and then try for a mortgage.

    I never want to get credit again. I would maybe get one card in the future to boost my credit rating but cut it up straight away and give it to my dad so he can hide it away - or bury it to keep it away from me.

  • Well done bluezone, must've been nerve-wracking for you but I'm really pleased for you. You can now get on with your life.

    Apologies if you've already said this - but is it likely you'll be discharged in 12 months?

    MBNA = £4,000 / Next = £925 (approx. tbc on 19/8)
    Tesco = £2,910.11 / Smile overdraft = £500
    Bank of Scotland = £2,782.83

    Don't let anyone get you down over bankruptcy you exercised your legal RIGHT, the judge etc agreed with you that in your circumstances it was the correct legal option,course of action etc etc and thats, that.

    To be honest if it stings the banks / credit card companies by lots of people going bankrupt. GOOD !! Maybe it will teach the banks to stop throwing loans at everyone and make the banks think more carefully before they help people into debt.

    You hold your head up high Bluezone you exercised your lawful right and if people don't like the bankruptcy law they should blame the govt not you.

    I bet you have paid more than your fair share of interest to the banks / loan and credit card companies over the years Bluezone.

    I am glad the court has stopped the blood suckers from squeezing you for a few more years:T :T
