Motorcycle finance question
Hi everyone, i have a question i hope you can help me with.
Essentially, my bike (on finance through Black horse) was written off by a Toyota Yaris wielding OAP. The insurance paid out and i found out today that the finance agreement on the bike has been paid off.
Meanwhile, i've been looking at getting a new bike (sick of getting the train to work!) and i put down a deposit on one which i like. I wanted to seal the deal this week (on finance, again through Black horse).
I called Black horse and explained the situation, however they said that although the finance is officially paid off, they don't upgrade their "credit files" until the end of the month. Am i right in saying that this could and will harm my chances of getting a new finance agreement on the bike? Even if i qualify for the finance, could it harm the rate i get?
Sorry for the long post and thanks for your time.

It could yes, as it'd show that you have existing credit and you can only have so much in relation to your income before you start getting declined...
Oh and glad you're ok! I know a lot of people who've been seriously injured in bike accidents! :eek:Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Thanks for the advice folks, I think i've just going to have a go at it. The finance should be through the same company so hopefully they should see that the previous agreement has been settled. Since it is their own system!
Thanks for the well wishes too! I'm fine. I demolished a garden wall with my shoulder which was fun! I'm a dab hand at this. Been throwing bikes through hedges for years and spent 6 months learning to walk again once.
As for the suzuki tip... interesting but i can't get on with Gixxers. Not lively enough.
The new one is a 999R. Cheers.0 -
Hopefully as it is on their system they will see it has been paid off.
Enjoy the new Duke.0 -
