3G and Lowells

Hi,

Wonder if anyone can assist as i'm getting a bit confused.

I out of the blue got a letter from Red collection services and Lowells about an old 3G mobile account claiming i owe £280.

I know nothing about it but they have put a default on my credit file.

I wrote and asked for copy statements to prove its mine and have now requested a copy of the original default notice as i don't recall ever getting one and i'm almost certain it is not my debt.

They have written to me today (both of them!) saying they will try and get a copy to me but have to request it from 3G so cannot guarantee it will be within 14 days (i requested it be done within 14 days)

Just wondering what i do next and how long i give them to provide me with it?

after say 21 days shall i sent them a letter to ask them to remove the default as they can't provide a copy?

I'm sorry if this seems like a stupid question but i'm getting confused with all the different timescales and letters and would appreciate your advice.

Thanks,

    Hi ccqueen

I'm afraid I'm not sure about these things. What you've done seems right and I know there's been lots of stuff written about Lowells on here, so I'm sure others will be able to give more useful advice than I can.

I'd perhaps addd a note to your credit file saying you are contesting the default as it will affect your credit rating until it is removed.

Sorry I can't be of more use to you! Maybe by just bumping it back up will help others see it.

    Good luck :).
