I have a quick question. I understand you are notified of any win by letter with many of these puzzle magazine competitions, right?? If so, how long after the competition has ended are you notified of a win?? I tell you all why, I used to buy many of these magazines during the days of posting answers (up until about 3 years ago) by snail mail and had some nice wins in the late 90s, early 00s - generally a couple per year. However, since submitting competition entries online to puzzler.com and other mags (Real People, chat etc), I've not had a single win. Not saying it's strange or anything but just a little surprised I've not had a win in 3 years. Still, hoping another win will come again soon and the wins from years past make up for my lack of luck recently, hehe. I'll keep those fingers crossed.
Thank you so much to the extremely kind people who take the time to solve and post the clues and answers to many a magazine puzzle.0 -

You kind of have a point my nan buys most of the magazines and has had wins in the last couple of years but I have won nothing entering online. I am sure they have to select online winners at some point though, cross fingers! No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!
Thanks to everyone who posts competitions. You are the stars of the board :T:j:T0 -

I had a good few wins from Puzzler I used to post the answers here along with bdpm, the thread had very little views compared to now. This thread has grown in popularity I also not had a win in last 2 years, but I live in hope same as we all do, hundreds now probably enter through here and other comp sites.0

hiyai've been doing these & all the puzzler mags for years
same as you when they only had the ef's to post  seems so long ago
i'd had wins in them days but also have had wins just lately, they usually inform you with headed paper within a week after the c/d,
think it was just after xmas had a couple of brill toy wins for the GS's, have just had a £1,000 win from the tab puzzlers,
i buy all the mags & as said used to post them off, but, since the online entries came about i only enter them online as it's one entry per household, i send the ef's in in my sisters name & address & she's had winnersi've often had a chat with them when phoning them if/when there's a problem or whatever & have asked about the diff ways of entry on the puzzler comps/magazine weeklies/take a break monthlies etc, & can assure you the entries are taken from all routes of entry, a friend of mine not far from where i live texts her tab/chat in & uses the ef's for her brother & they've had wins,
think as all comps online, phone, text, ef's they all have the chance chance of being a winner
if you look at the viewer stats you'll see there's hundreds follow these threads, they're also posted on http://sites.google.com/site/donsaround/competitions
so peeps enter from there, as on other comp sites, i often get pm's from peeps who have just joined who ask questions concerning the mags, t&c's etc but never log back in again but are still entering them from hereso there must be thousands of entries going in all the time,
but, as always said... you got to be in it to win it :j so keep at it you never know what's round the corner so could be any day you'll get that winning letter, lots of good luck to you & us allplease be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly.0 -
Just to confirm all of the above....my Mum got a letter an hour ago from Real People Magazine to say she'd won £25. :j:j
And she only ever uses the online route,
happy comping,
Blue xxAnd I won't sit down and I won't shut upAnd most of all I will not grow up!Frank Turner/Photosynthesis

My mum used to complete all the comps & post them untill she passed away 7 years ago. She entered them all for years and won nothing. In the last 2 years I have won around £800 from various magazines all entered on line.
As korky says I think you have the same chance of winning whatever method of entry you use.Sometimes later becomes never. ...0 -
