Help on Sewing please

Not quite sure if this is the right place but I guess sewing is OS.

A friend has asked if I can help her sew a bag that has come with her Cath Kidston sewing book, but to be honest I have failed at the first hurdle.

The second instruction is for a T Junction seam, I have never come across this and from one set of instructions I found on the forum and from googling I can't seem to get any proper instructions.

Does anyone have any pictures on how to do this. The book says to sew down both sides and the bottom of the bag but to leave each corner, folding them over to a right angle and then sew a t-junction. Where do I sew - it can't just be straight across it as it wouldn't be a bag shape.

I would really like to be able to do this for my friends but fear it is way out of my depth.

Any help is appreciated.

Not easy to exxplain as I'm a novice myself but I managed to follow the instructions and make this bag so it can't be too hard!?! You need to read the earlier instructions in the book where she tells you all about sewing - I'm sure it shows you there how to make a t-junction.
I'll try to explain - sew the each side and the bottom (three different seams) so that when you lie it flat it looks like theres a square cut out of the fabric at each bottom corner and this hasn't been sewn. Then put your hand inside and and sort of flatten the bottom bit then you'll see how the one part of the side seam attaches to one side of the bottom. I know reading this doesn't make sense but, trust me, try it out (I looked at one of the Cath Kidston Tesco bags which were made like this and that's how I worked it out!).
    Good luck. Hope this helps????????????????

Thank you both so much. I got the bag finished and my friends was really pleased with it. I realised why I was getting so confused. On the picture in the book it show the whole corner on one side of the fabric being turned over. I thought how on earth can I do that seam when one corner is turned over and the seam is only half stitched. Anyway turns out that it was turned over just to show the reader that the two pieces of fabric were facing inwards - doh

    Still thank you all again.
