Notorising qualification certifitactes for an overseas job

I have been offered a job in Vietman working as a teacher. I've been given a document checklist for expatrates' work permit which says I need my degree and PGCE certifictes notarised and leglised. Do I need to see a solicitor or a notary? Also any idea how much this would cost. There's 2 certificates involved.

Hi, I don't know exactly what this involves but it might be worth checking with the university you studied at. Try the Academic Registry there, or the admin team for your course or Faculty International Office if there is one. It could be something that they can do (I seem to remember when I worked in a university that one or two ex-students needed some kind of official authentication process that sounded like this, but can't remember what it was called).
That kind of process can take a while though so best start asap!
I could be wrong and it might be something you need a solictor for but your uni should at least be able to advise where to start.0 -
In England (I assume you are in England!) all Notary Publics are solicitors, but not all solicitors are Notary Publics. Get the yellow pages out and start phoning them up. All you need is a notarized copy of your certificates, so tell them how many you want done. These are just copies that the notary public has signed in his/her legal capacity as being authentic copies of the original which they have viewed.
Sorry I can't give you an idea of cost but whoever answers the phone should know how much it costs per signature.0 -
Hiya,
I'm from the UK and moving to Vietnam too...if you have any advice on getting teaching qualifications legalised/apposilised, I would be REALLY grateful. (It's been a real nightmare trying to find out)
I'm so shocked at how expensive it all is!
Hope your enjoying living in Vietnam

NARIC is the organisation you need to contact to get overseas qualifications verified and equivalents give. Unfortunately, it isn't a free service.
