YOUNG and old will find plenty to enjoy in a dazzling Festival of British Music coming your way courtesy of the talented music makers of St Helens Sinfonietta... and your Star has two pairs of tickets to be won for the first concert.

The first concert, The Lighter Side, is on Saturday, April 17, at 7.30 pm at the Town Hall, St Helens.

You will be entertained by a variety of composers and their compositions from Arthur Sullivan’s Overture to the Mikado, Vaughan Williams’ Fantasia upon Greensleeves and Delius’ On Hearing the First Cuckoo in Spring.

There will be contributions from such composers as Gerald Finzi, Purcell, Boyce, William Matthias and William Alwyn and local composer David Forshaw, who composed the Planet Dances especially for the orchestra.
