As long as the stamps actually have the wording 1st or 2nd then it doesn't matter when you use them, so in 5years time you can still use them.
If they have a value on them i.e. 1p, 9p, 32p etc you can still use them, but they must make up the value of the postage you are going to send the mail at, otherwise there would be a charge at the recipients end if the postage cost does not total 2nd+ class post.

No probs, kinda knew what you meant. Luckily all the ones I buy in the books from the shops etc... just have the 1st or 2nd wording! Might stock up!

I've never got into ebay, preferring to go with recognised shops myself, though I know there are some bargains to be had. I buy my stamps in books of 100 from Viking Direct - go via quidco and you get 10% cashback; pay with a cashback credit card and you get another 1% or so back aswell. Delivery is free over a certain value, and arrives next day. I stocked up this week to beat the increase

Regarding Pink mag comps.... you now have to validate your comp entries by a stamp that is in the magazine. It is probably not worth posting these comps anymore without the stamp to validate it. If anyone would still like to try without the stamp I will still post the comps, so please let me know. The mag is £2.15 for anyone thinking of buying it and has some great comps, puzzles, stories & freebies in for children. HTH
